I am not going to say too much about this product [intentionally] except to say the $12.00 price point is reasonable if you get free shipping. It is small and although I have never personally used it, the hinge on the lid looks a little flimsy. I do not think this would be the right product for anyone over say 250 lbs. For us larger folks, I would recommend the Hassock toilet, made by the same company. The advantage to this product over the Hassock is storage space.

Wow, why haven’t I heard of this before? No nasty-stinky-messy bags for me, though. Wood shavings or leaf mold makes for non-stinky, non-spilling toilet-ing. Look up the Humanure Handbook by Joseph Jenkins. You know, you can fertilize your trees, plants, lawn, everything with pee… Easy to find all kinds of info online.

We use this lid and a used 5 gallon plastic bucket as our “Joe jenkins” composting toilet. Each deposit is covered with peat moss, and emptied weekly into the compost bin. Eventually all that is left is rich dark fertilized “earth”. See more on how to do this in Joe Jenkin’s “Humanure Handbook”. The Humanure Handbook: A Guide to Composting Human Manure, Third Edition

This was what I was looking for. Plain and simple. It does the job without fanfare. And the price is right. Why can’t everything be like that? Oh…sorry…my wife said, “Don’t even think about a video review!”

We bought this this year before camping season, but have not had an opportunity to use it yet. Up until this point we had been using a regular toilet seat that we rigged to go over a five gallon bucket, but it was extremely top heavy. This is not. Plus the seat snaps tight and holds the bag in place securely. My one concern is that the lid doesn’t seem to want to push out of the way very far when it is up – so we’ll have to be careful that we don’t snap it off. Otherwise great buy!

This works very well. The seat fits nicely on the bucket with enough room for two bags between bucket and lid. During camp setup, the bucket doubles as a step stool before assuming its primary purpose. We got a cheap privacy shelter to set up at the edge of camp. A little balance is required during the later stages of the process to avoid tipping over since one is essentially balanced on the edge of a plastic bucket.

Great item, great value! I put the seat on a 3 gallon bucket(just shorter than the 5 gallon ones)since it takes up less room. I put an 8 gallon hefty bag over the seat, add some gelling agent(get the gel at better camping stores) and ready to go for those early morning wakes. I only use it in the middle of the night or early morning when walking out to the pit toilet isn’t my idea of fun! I don’t do #2 in it! Just empty the contents of the bag into the pit toilet and toss the bag in the dumpster, can rinse the bag out if you want to drag a bottle of water into the pit toilet too. I don’t reuse the bag, though! Other than that there is no clean up to the seat or bucket as its all contained in the bag. The lid is imperative in camping to keep any odors or bugs out, and the gel agent does help with odor. I wouldn’t buy anything unless a lid came with as you won’t be able to hurry right away and deal with disposing the contents if you just used it at 3am!

I purchased this stove for my daughter for Christmas. We are avid campers and we are starting her out with her own camping supplies. We own a simular stove and I knew this would be a good purchase for her. She has used it alot and it works great. I turned to Amazon to find the best deal. Would recommend this product to anyone.

With summer almost here, this little unit is a neccesity for any outdoor camping trips and then some! It portable, light weight and goes anywhere you go. Great for cooking all your favorite meals and no need for electrical power! No person should be without one of these unless you plan to tug your backyard grill all over this great nation only for a mere hamburger, with that in mind, just go to Mickey D’s! LOL.

I was a boy scout from the age of 10 right up until I got my Eagle at 18. My camp kitchen was outfitted with this stove. It was several years old when I got it, and then my patrol cooked well over 500 meals on this stove over the course of 8 years, and now it is still in use with another group of kids. It is inexpensive, simple, and reliable. For the size, it gives off a good amount of heat. It is not a good choice for boiling large quantities of water or any other job that requires bringing out the big guns. My favorite use for this stove is to throw down a double-wide cast iron skillet across the burners for making pancakes, hashbrowns, and omelettes.

EXPERIENCE: I have used barbecue grills before, but none of them have been as good as this propane stove. Granted, you can’t grill anything on a stove, however, these stoves are so much more efficient then that of a grill. Always remember to have the valves closed first before putting a flame over the burners, as this is how the manual recommends, then you can open the valves to ignite the gas. For my purpose’s of this propane stove, I just use a barbecue lighter, and it seems to work just fine. Unlike a grill which does not burn clean, and the grill gets charred and dirty, these stoves burn very clean, and the stove top grill does not get dirty. There is no need to put food directly onto the stove, as this stoves burner system, heats so efficiently and evenly, that all food inside a pot or pan, will get cooked well. The ergonomics of the stove is not too bad, its designed very well. The wind breakers on each side are designed to keep the wind away, and more of the heat against the pot or pan.

I have this stove hooked to a “tree” along with my propane lantern and both are working out fine. I like the fact that both burners put out the same amount of heat and I don’t have to switch the pans back and forth on the burners. I can just adjust each burner to the heat that I want and cook right on. I would not hesitate to buy another one when I need it.

Just got this for my son for cub scouts.. nicely made and a great price, the little pocket inside is great for kids who like to bring buddies with them…

I bought this for my five year old and the purple one for my 8 year old daughter. We’ve been out several times now – the bag has kept him warm and comfortable even one night when the temperature dropped into the 20s. Given that I’m only 5’2”, I thought I might fit the small size, but I’d say 4’10” is the max for this sleeping bag. The kids love the pocket where they can store little toys. Both kids still needed help with the zippers, but once zipped up they were good for the night.

My daughter loves her new sleeping bag, so far using it mainly for sleepovers at friends. She says she can’t wait for our summer canoe trips and early season hunting trips together next fall. Mike Ganser

We bought this sleeping bag for my 8 year old daughter to use on a girl scout campout. She loved it and says that it was very warm and comfy inside. Overall we are VERY happy with this product and will buy another one for our other daughter.

We purchased two of the Grasshopper sleeping bags for our boys (ages 3 & 5) for camping in our pop-up camper. They work perfectly! They are warmer than my Mountain Hardware sleeping bag! The temperatures get below freezing and they still have no problems. The only warning I will give: these are NOT slumber bags! We kept our boys cheap slumber bags for use indoors. They tried to sleep in the Grasshopper bags on their bedroom floor the first night we got them and they were so sweaty and hot they climbed into their beds during the night.

The boys love their new sleeping bags. It is a nice kids sized bag that will keep them warm for the cool nights of camping.

My boy, who is 7 years old, said he really liked this sleeping bag. He thought it looked cool. More importantly, he said it kept him warm. We went camping in mid-November (in Southern California) and it was raining and got down to 48 degrees, but it kept him warm and he slept fine in it. (Granted, we were inside a tent, so we didn’t really have to worry about the rain.) The bag was huge for him, so I’m sure it would be fine for a much larger, older boy.

My partner and I go hiking every weekend for 2-4 hours at a time. I need a lot of water, but I also like to bring things like car keys, my phone, snacks, tissues, a small collapsible dog bowl, etc. with me. This bag is still very small and takes up minimal back space (read: doesn’t cause back sweat), yet has two pockets with plenty of room for the extras. And, there’s more than enough water for me for our hikes. The slight plastic taste gets much better after the first time and mostly goes away after the 3rd or 4th. It’s easy to fill and easy to remove for cleaning. If you are a runner, there’s no waist strap, so I’d recommend a different bag.

While Camelbak sell cleaning tablets ( Camelbak Cleaning Tablets (8 Pack) ) I have read that you can clean the reservoir by filling it to capacity and adding a small amount of bleach, or some baking soda. I have also heard that you can store the reservoir in the freezer to prevent mold from growing. But I have not tried any of these suggestions. I have just taken a look at the Camelbak site and they have some cleaning tips that seem to confirm that bleach or baking soda can be used as an alternative to their cleaning tablets. My only gripe would be the lack of documentation, both with the product and on the Camelbak site. But Dr Google can certainly help you out there. Buy with confidence. Highly recommended.

I use this pack for Dirtbiking on multi purpose bikes and it works great u can get water if your on the trail or on the road. Thanks Camelbak.

Though it would have been nice to have the Quick Link on the Camelbak-Rogue, that is the only con I can find on it. Also, it would have been nice if they had a small zipper pocket on the top like other camelbak’s do, for an mp3 player with a hole that allows you to slide your ear/headphones through. Very convenient. Unfortunately, I was mistaken and the Camelbak-Rogue does NOT have that feature. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase! I actually paid about $64 for my Camelbak-Rogue! So with Amazons price (for some colors) of $44, it’s a steal! And I am definitely going to recommend this to my buddies! Enjoy, everyone!

This product is great if you are looking for something bigger to run with. You will not feel it on your back while running. I think that this is better then my running belt.

The Camelbak is better than I expected. Compact and gets the job done! There is one small thing i dislike: there is no covering for the mouth piece.

This is a great product. It is light and easy to use. But as others have reported the bladder is missing the Quick Link system. I have emailed Camelbak directly to ask if this is a manufacturer’s mistake. Camelbak tells me not all Antidote bladders have the Quick Link system. Checking Camelbak’s website I see that the 70 oz and 50 oz usually are not described as having the Quick Lind system, but they are still the Antidote system. So Amazon made no mistake. The Quick Link system can be purchased separately.

Takes a couple of minutes to fill but way better than trying to blow it up yourself!

I love the fact that it uses batteries, so no worries about an outlet. The pump is strong; it took less than a minute to pump up one twin bed.

This was a great buy! I was very satisfied with this quick pump. I used this to blow up a queen size mattress, it was done in about 3-5 min. I noticed that other reviewers said it took much longer, but I think that had something to do with not getting a good seal when attaching the pump to the mattress. I put on the attachment nozzle that came with the pump and inserted it to the larger inflate/deflate hole until it wedged itself. When removing the pump from mattress I left it on so it will not let air out.

I have had this same one for about 7 years. It works just fine airing up any airup matress. I’ve used it a couple of times when all you can find is wet or green wood for a camp fire and the fire just wont get going. If you can get just a little coals and then use this to blow on the fire you can keep a fire going all night. The only thing I dont like about it is the bottom does not stay on very well. I just use a small bunjee cord and that works great.

A little slower than an electric pump, but when you are traveling to places where there is no dependable electricity, the speed of an electric pump is a little use to you. This one will air up a twin air mattress is 5 minutes or less and deflate it even faster! Nice to have!

Yes D batteries can be expensive, but my name brand batteries seem to last a long time. Plus the ability to take it anywhere is a BIG plus. My pump works just great on the 4 in 1 Coleman mattress. Inflated both in under 2 minutes. Deflation even faster. Remember, sometimes you get a dud, try again. I got lucky and got a great pump at a great price. I have tried those aero type beds, and not for me. Uncomfortable, heavy, must have a plug near by to inflate. I’m spur of the moment, so this travel pump is just perfect! p.s. it’s advertised as a 4D pump, so you know before you buy it takes D batteries, so if you don’t want the weight by a bike pump!

I don’t understand so many low reviews for this product. I’ve had two of them for years now and they work perfect. Fills up my double size air mattress in just a few minutes. Batteries last a long time.

This works good a little slower than an electric pump but better than nothing. It took about 5 to 10 to fill queen size.

Product works great. It is pretty fast but it does not pump up your air mattress up instantly but none of them do. It is light and easy to store at home, while travelling and at the campsite.

This is a great item for inflating my new Coleman Quickbed and my inflatable backyard pool. Quick and efficient both inflating and deflating. Compact size is a plus too.

The bulk makes it comfy and warm, but it means it doesn’t exactly store small. – No drawstring: The scoop top is great for retaining your pillow, but there isn’t any kind of drawstring at the top. During warmer weather this isn’t a problem, but when the temperature drops a bit and you want the top at least somewhat snug around you, there isn’t a way to draw it tight – you have to just bunch it up in your arms. Not terrible, but it might have been nice to have. – No storage sack: The sleeping bag comes in a box and doesn’t come with any kind of storage. I had to buy some large compression sacks to store these in. – Zipping together: This sleeping bag doesn’t work well to zip together with another sleeping bag. It does do it, but because of the scoops this means that one scoop is on top, so a person on one side has the sleeping back shorter underneath them and long over their face – doesn’t really work very well. Overall this is a good solid sleeping bag for our family camping trips and I am happy with my purchase.

It’s big enough to roll around in, and keeps me nice and warm. It has a good amount of cushion. The inside is made of a soft fabric and not a nylon-like material. To me, it was worth the price and much better in comparison to my previous sleeping-bag, which was the Coleman “Nimbus”.

I bought this for my husband when he attended a men’s retreat/camp. The extra-long head area really made a difference since he didn’t have to worry about his pillow getting dirty. The inside is soft; the outside is water-resistant. I liked it so much, now I actually use this sleeping bag as a throw blanket around the house…it’s nice and toasty, and the cats like to lay on it as well. It gets a lot of use even though we’re not campers!

This is a quality sleeping bag at a reasonable price. It was received in a couple of days right to my door, packaged great.

I use this every night on a couch bed, and it works great. The zipper runs easy on its track, and is not a problem. It keeps you warm in the Southern California climate where it gets down to 40 degrees in the winter.

We purchased 3 of these sleeping bags for camping with our son’s cub scout pack. We had our first cold weather camp out this weekend. Local weather said temperatures were 29 degrees and we did not get cold while sleeping. This was amazing to me since I prefer warm weather and was really dreading the trip because of the cold. The size of these sleeping bags are awesome, my 7 year old and I shared a sleeping bag because they were big and my husband said he had plenty of room as well.

This sleeping bag is very nice. The zipper has a special molding so the material won’t get caught and cut in the zipper, very nice. It is very poofy and plush, which makes it kind of big when rolled up, but still manageable and very nice to sleep in. Keeps you VERY warm. I got larger size because I’m 6′ 1″, and it can cover me up to my nose. However, my feet were kind of jammed into the bottom all the time. Head also kind of exposed. Not heavy at all (when carrying).

I found that the waist strap helps keep the pack in place when you catch an edge and find yourself upended with gravity and momentum deciding your fate. Most of the time I rode with just the shoulder straps and chest strap in place. The board straps allow you to carry your board on your back. I found this helpful since I was getting over a shoulder injury that tended to ache when carrying anything for very long. I had an extra pair of goggles in the goggle compartment the whole weekend that I completely forgot about, and even after several rough landings they were in perfect shape. The third day I remembered the water bottle pocket. This is a clever little feature that looks like a pocket until you open it up and it becomes a water bottle carrier complete with a drawstring. It held a 16oz. bottle of water without a problem (didn’t try it with anything larger but it seemed like a 20oz bottle would fit), and I never lost a bottle even after a few spills. Overall I found this to be an excellent choice for snowboarding and would work for a lot of other uses including day-to-day work. I would highly recommend it.

What a great buy and back pack! I have a Dakine back pack and wanted to purchase one for my friend for Christmas. There were many options and styles to choose from. LOTS of pockets and is very useful for school or for outdoor adventures. I even received my purchase sooner than I had expected. I enjoyed my purchasing experience and my friend loves his new back pack =) I highly recommend this product!

Ya, I have to say I used to think Dakine was overrated. That was over 8 years ago. Then I got my first Dakine mission bag in high school and it lasted all the way through to college and then got stolen jan 3rd in SF’s tenderloins. No I have replaced the old mission bag I had that was mostly brown and green with a sweet, dark colored one with some lime green. This thing is amazing MUCH better than the older version I had! I mean think has a compartment for EVRYTHING! If your like me and like things separated this IS THE PACK FOR YOU. This pack interior is even water proof material for the most part. not 100% water proofed but resistant to rain no problem! I love this pack and I work in sport chalet so I say Ogio, Jansport, and Element don’t have shnite on this pack. Though i’ll admit Oakley, Electric have some worthy opposition for this master piece.

SO, I’m going back to school, and my 9 year old North Face bag just won’t cut it anymore. Great bag, great memories, just need more. I was in search of a new NF bag, but the price was getting me down. Then I remembered Dakine, which I own a snowboard bag and goggle case, both very nice. I got this Mission bag in the Black/Alpine plaid for under $37, which they usually sell for $65. WHAT A DEAL. I can use this bag for school, the laptop sleeve holds my 13″ MBP perfectly, and I can bring this out west for some snowboarding excursions. The straps are comfy, the construction seems to be high quality, and the style is much better then any north face bag. All in all a KILLER deal.

My son loves this backpack. He said it feels as if he is not even wearing it all. He has only had it for a few weeks so I cannot rate its durability. So far so good though.

I BOUGHT THIS SLEEPING BAG FOR MY HUSBAND….WE WERE LOOKING FOR A COTTON BAG NOT A SHINY SILKY ONE …THIS IS THE BAG…THESE ARE HARD TO FIND….HE WAS A LITTLE SKEPTICAL AT FIRST BUT AFTER USING IT HE LOVES IT…KEEPS HIM AT JUST THE RIGHT SLEEPING TEMP…GREAT BUY…..

We zipped this together with a lighter Coleman Bag and flip it over according to the weather. It works great and is quite roomy.

Let me start off by saying that I’m 6′ and about 320 lbs and I am always leery of products made for larger people because they never seem to use actual big people during r&d of said products. But Coleman got it right on this one. There is ample room to move around in this bag and it’s long enough that my head isn’t laying on the cold tent floor. I’ve been able to fit into normal sized sleeping bags and I always felt very restricted but not with this bag. I haven’t tested it in colder weather yet but I’m probably not going to be the best judge of this feature as I usually run a bit warmer than those around me. Overall for casual family camping this is great bag for those of us who are larger than average. I wouldn’t use it for any long backpacking trips as it’s not really designed for that and it’s a bit bulky unless you use a compression bag. I’m very happy with my purchase and actually ordered another so I can zip them together to make a couples sleeping bag.

I’m a big guy to, 6’2″, 275lbs. My fiance got one and she’s 5’10″ and 140lbs. We bought two and we LOVE them. They are comfortable and zip together easy. I highly recommend picking this, you won’t be disappointed.

I bought this bag to use on a coleman cot for when company comes to visit, I live in a small apartment so space saving is necessary. I wanted an all cotton bag so it would feel like a nice blanket. I wash everything before I use it, so I took the bag to the laundry to wash in a front loading machine per the instructions. It washed and dried very nicely, I put it on the coleman cot and I was so cozy there I layed there and watched TV. I don’t know if this is a good camping bag or not but it fits my needs perfectly.

We bought two different Coleman Sleeping bags, The Oak Point and the Biscayne. My wife and I like sleeping out on our 26′ boat in the cooler weather. We’ve never used sleeping bags before. These worked great. Since they are both the same large size we were able to zip them together. We will put the Oak Point on top when the weather is colder and the Biscayne when warmer. We’ve only used them once and the temp only got down to about 50 degrees, but the comfort was wonderful. Maybe it was enhanced by the fact that we were able to make a full size bed out of them. We’re looking forward to the next opportunity in a little cooler weather. We’re in Texas so it doesn’t get that cold. But I’d like to try them in 40 degrees later this year.

I bought this for my boyfriend who is 6’4″ – needless to say, no ordinary sleeping bag would be sufficent. It’s a little heavy for backpacking, but for car camping it’s great. It’s roomy, it’s thick so it gives some extra padding, and although we didn’t test it’s 0 degree rating, and have no plans to, it came in handy during a recent winter wind storm power outage. The only other feature I look for in a sleeping bag is the sqaure foot compartment wich this one doesn’t have. Over all, being the geeky camping loving, gear loving girl that I am, I love it.

Just took this bag on it’s maiden voyage to Yosemite. It was plenty big enough for my 6′ tall husband. He really loved all the room he had in it. There was even room in it for our 6 year old daughter to cozy up with him one cold morning! I can’t testify as to the 0 degrees aspect, but it stayed nice and warm inside as the temps dipped to the high 30′s. My husband had no issues getting it folded back up and into the stuff sack that it came in. The sack by the way is also well constructed and of good quality, unlike the ones that came with my own and our daughter’s new bags. If you’re looking for a well made, roomy and warm bag, this is it!

Used these camping in the wind and rain, 35 degrees, and they are great. Roomy, warm, and are of nice quality. Thumbs up!

My first time experince with this bag started at 25 degrees with rain/sleet then at midnight the kicked up to 20 to 30 mph gusts and the temp dropped to 10 degrees . I have no idea what the windchill factor was but anyway there i was laying on the mat with no tent covered in ice but I was actually quite warm . This was the 0 degree bag . If there is a negetive it would be it could use a better zipper but over all it delivers as promised !

We bought two of these sleeping bags and put them together! My husband is tall and I am wide (tee, hee) and I hate that claustrophobic feeling you get when cocooned in regular sleeping bags! I also get cold very easily and when we got numerous warnings about how frosty it would be on our Boy Scout camping trip, I felt nervous! But these bags kept me pleasantly toasty and were so roomy and comfortable too! Next time we’ll use a pad underneath for extra cushioning, but not necessarily for warmth. I look forward to using these again and highly recommend them!

Good looking sleeping bag. Good price. I bought two to zip together and that works well. The XL is very roomy.

I adore this thing. It comes in a study bag that is very tough with multiple clips to hold it together. It’s absolutely huge. I’m a very big guy and there’s enough room for my wife to slip inside this thing with me. It is crazy warm. We were on a camping trip in 10 degree weather with a lot of wind and I actually had to remove my outer layer of clothing because I was too hot to the amazement of my buddies that were all freezing in their cheap bags. Has comfortable, soft interior with pockets and lots of other great features. I couldn’t be happier with it.

The mess kit is made of good quality metal. Everything fits together nicely. After my son’s camping trip, we washed all of the items in the dishwasher and they cleaned nicely. Good value for the kit.

We bought two of these TexSport “Stainless Steel Mess Kits” with two Coleman Aluminum Mess Kit and they really are not in the same league. The less expensive Coleman kit is hardly usable in any practical way when camping because it is so flimsy. This TexSport kit is every bit a good as I had hoped, with the following observations: Pros – + Stainless Steel; very sturdy and easy to clean + Good design; everything fits together nicely and sets up easily + Frying Pan; Has copper bottom and nice handle Cons – - Rattles around a little, but not too bad when in the pack After using the disappointing Coleman set, I am glad that we also spent the extra on this vastly superior set! Highly Recommended! CFH

I’ve had many mess kits over the years. In fact, I used to cycle through them fairly often until I came across this kit. I’ve had this one at least 10 years now (probably longer), and it has held up well. The copper bottom on the pan helps distribute heat more evenly across the bottom, lessening the chance for hot spots. It makes a fine set for a Scout, especially if the troop requires each person to carry his own cooking and eating gear. It also works well for any solo trips. I rarely cook in the little pot, however, as it is too small for many of the instant meals I like to carry. The stainless construction makes it much more sturdy than similar aluminum sets. Similarly, the stainess handles the high heat of portable stoves better than aluminum. That’s why I’ve had this kit for 10+ years–it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it. The only negative of this kit (really, of all such kits) is the cup. While it does the job, it leaves much to be desired. I keep it packed in the kit as a “just in case” item, but I typically carry and use a 12 oz. stainless steel mug for coffee and tea. This is one of the best mess kits you can buy. Don’t bother with a cheap aluminum kit. If you need one, this is the one to get.

Stainless steel mess kits seem harder to find in stores these days. This was just what I was looking for. The pieces fit together nicely and they are sturdily built.

I recently purchased this and have used it on one camping trip. It easily fits in my back pack since all the pieces fit inside the one pan and then the handle flips over to hold everything together. All together they are fairly light weight and the handle does a good job of locking in place so everything doesn’t fall out of the main pan. Although lightweight they are still sturdy enough to be very useful. For the price I don’t think you’ll find a better set of pans. They are small and would probably not be good for fixing food for more then 2 people at a time. The cup that is included is very small and practically useless but I suguest carrying a water bottle with you anyway. Really the only complaint I have is that it would be nice to have some sort of lock on the pan handle to lock it in the open postion. As it is you must be careful when picking it up with food in it by the handle or you can easily tip it too far in either direction and dump your food out. Other then that I love this set so far.
