Kershaw Ken Onion Black Leek Folding Knife with Speed Safe

Ordered the stainless steel colored one. Loved it. So i got the black too. I am a business professional & wear suits a lot. I am also a big DYIer having a home built in the mid-1800s. I carry my knife during the day to open boxes & envelopes with ease, and for projects/yardwork on the weekends. The Leek is sleek, sharp, and durable enough for my needs. The easy assist is great for ease of use, but I would not use that feature in front of other workers. My mother-in-law asked me to open a box once and I flipped it open using the ez assist and she looked at me like I should be wearing a “T-Birds” leather jacket or something. So if I were to use it at work, I will open it like a normal folding knife so it is not seen as a switch blade or something. Because it flips open quickly and locks on it’s own, & that’s a feature not normally seen with the typical Swiss Army knife. My nephew is an auto mechanic & often takes care of me with repairs so I picked him up one for the holidays. Oh… It’s also made in the USA. It’s hard to buy everything made here, but for me when it comes to something like a pocket knife? Something I learned as a Boy Scout to “be prepared” with? I will opt for the Kershaw. It’s very well made. If your job is more of a tool belt sort of job, I’d say get the Blur. My bro-in-law has that. It’s nice. Read more »

Windmill Delta Stormproof Lighter, Black

I was looking for a good Jeep lighter — let me explain. I own a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, and the best times are with the top down and the doors off. As such there is quite a bit of wind; even at slow speeds it makes using a traditional lighter an impossible task. I could use the electric cigarette lighter but that involves disconnecting the 3 or 4 electronic devices I’ve got daisy-chained out of that jack – not appealing and a pain while driving. This lighter changes that — I’ve used it at 75MPH on the highway with no issues at all. I particularly like the water-resistant (proof? haven’t tested that) nature, the “take a beating” construction and quality electronic ignition – not a problem after quite a bit of abuse. This lighter also seems to be more frugal with fuel than other lighters I’ve used — it takes quite a while to burn through an entire tank. All in all, a great device – I highly recommend it. Coleman 4D XPS LED Duo Lantern

I love this lantern so much, I stash it under my side of the bed for easy access. We have a lot of Spring thunderstorms and tornado alerts, so I have spent a lot of time waiting in the basement, attempting to read by flashlight, candlelight and oil lamps. Now I have ample light and don’t have to worry about carbon monoxide poisoning or crow’s feet from squinting! It has these ingenious removable light panels that work independently from the base, making it easy to share and ideal for trips to the bathroom, etc. Would be great for camping, too… or whatever you want to use it for. I highly recommend it and thank Coleman for supporting my love affair with Jane Austen. Read more »

Hi-Tec Men’s Natal Mid WP Light Hiking Shoe,Dark Taupe/Taupe/Dijon,10 M

Just got back from a 2 day hiking trip in Red River Gorge, KY. Boots held up well all around. Went without breaking them in, and, with a thick pair of socks, no blisters. Forded a few creeks and got significantly rained on, but still my feet stayed dry! Recommend these boots! Read more »
